In this episode we discuss how to use a weightlifting belt! When worn correctly, a weightlifting belt can significantly increase your ability to produce power and strength. Research has shown that lifters who wear a belt on average can squat more weight and maintain trunk stiffness (core stability) for longer reps.

  1. Thanks for the great video. Question: can using a belt during squats be detrimental? That is, might the belt be substituting for poor core strength? Is there any advantage to NOT using a belt?
